Monumental beauty and distinctive character

This area was once classed as having the most beautiful architecture in the world by the famous builder Le Corbusier. The fact that the Dolomites are among the most well-known rock formations in the whole world is beyond dispute. At any rate, since the summer of 2009 when they were declared a “unique site of monumental natural beauty” and made into a UNESCO World Heritage Site they are well known to everyone. And these legendary “white mountains” which stretch over the provinces of Bolzano, Trento, and Belluno do not bear this new title without reason: the Dolomites are unique, beautiful, and worthy of preservation. Although they are not always white, in particular when they reflect the gentle evening reds or the sparkling yellows of a summer morning.
